Who this policy is for
This policy explains how Tickido handles personal information for families in Australia and elsewhere. It is written to reflect the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), even where a legal exemption may apply to a small business.
What Tickido is
Tickido is a family routine app. Parents and caregivers create visual checklists, kids tick off tasks, and families can sync routines across their own devices. Tickido is not an emergency, medical, school, counselling, or child-supervision service.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to run Tickido: caregiver sign-in details, family membership, invited caregiver emails, kid first names, kid avatars, routines, task completion state, reward settings, subscription status, support messages, device and security information, and basic product analytics.
Children's information
Tickido is designed for adults to manage family accounts and to avoid child personal information beyond what the routine app needs: a child's first name, avatar choice, tasks, completions, and reward progress. Please do not add a child's email address, full legal name, date of birth, photo, school, health information, location, or other sensitive details. If we learn that a child has provided personal information without an appropriate adult's involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
How we use information
We use information to provide and sync the checklist, keep accounts secure, manage caregiver invitations, process subscriptions, answer support requests, improve Tickido, prevent abuse, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations.
Analytics and communications
Tickido uses first-party, privacy-safe analytics for aggregate product and marketing metrics. Analytics are not used to profile children, are not tied to child identity, and are not sold. We may send service messages about sign-in, invitations, support, billing, security, or important product changes. Marketing messages, if introduced, will include a way to opt out.
Service providers and overseas processing
Tickido uses trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, payments, email, security, and support. These providers may process information in Australia, the United States, the European Union, or other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. We take reasonable steps to use providers that protect personal information and process it only for Tickido's purposes.
Payments
Payment details are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout. Tickido does not store full card numbers. We store subscription status and billing identifiers needed to unlock paid features, manage cancellations, and provide support.
Security and data retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards for family data, including access controls and secure hosted infrastructure. No online service can promise perfect security. We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including backups, legal obligations, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and accounting records.
Access, correction, export, and deletion
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal information connected to your family account. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account owner or another authorised caregiver before acting. Some information may be retained where required by law, for security, for billing records, or for legitimate dispute-resolution purposes.
Privacy complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). We will also comply with applicable notifiable data breach obligations if a data breach is likely to result in serious harm.
